Queen Omega is a reggae singer and songwriter born in Trinidad and Tobago who uses her powerful voice and conscious lyrics to create engaging and thoughtful reggae music.
Her music not only represents the musical culture of the Caribbean, including reggae, calypso, and soca, but also conveys messages of empowerment, awareness, and spirituality.
Her legacy brings together her depeest questions about human condition and relashionships between people, in wich she sings about her fights towards freedom and Independence for women, with militant lyrics bringing hoppe to new generations.
Her impact on the reggae scene and her dedication to social and spiritual issues have made her a respected and influential figure in contemporary music.
Inspired by artists such as Bob Marley, Marcia Griffiths, and Judy Mowatt, it was her track “Warning” that catapulted her onto the international reggae stage, gaining popularity on radio and dance floors and earning her recognition as an important voice in female reggae, bringing a unique perspective to the genre and paving the way for other female roots reggae artists.
On stage , Queen Omega marks a multigenerational public with her almost unlimited vocal performance that combine reggae, Caribbean, jazz and soul sounds…but also by her authenticity, her energy and her undeniable presence. For 20 years, her unique live performances have taken her to tour the world from Europe to America.
Queen Omega has collaborated with several other reggae artists, including Anthony B and Gentleman (also previously featured in earlier editions of the Maré de Agosto Festival), expanding her musical reach.
Trough all these years, Queen Omega keeps renewing herself and invites us to rediscover her in diferent ways.
