The debut of the Terra Stage in Almagreira marks a new era for Portugal's oldest continuously running festival.
Santa Maria is preparing to host another edition of the Maré de Agosto Festival, Portugal's longest-running music festival, which celebrates its 41st edition this year, from August 20th to 23rd, 2025.
Maintaining its unique identity centered on world music, Maré de Agosto presents a major new addition: the debut of the "Terra Stage," an ecological and innovative space in the parish of Almagreira, which has hosted the festival since its inception. This new stage was created as a tribute to the land and the local community, reinforcing the organization's commitment to environmental sustainability and cultural decentralization. The Terra Stage debut is scheduled for August 20, with an intimate show by musician Cristovam, in a night that aims to celebrate Maré's roots and future, in an environment of closeness, reflection, and connection with nature, opening at 7:30 p.m.
